Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, Nikoloz started playing tennis at age 5 with his father Nodar in his hometown at the Leila Mekshi Tennis Academy. Nikoloz spent most of his teenage in the United-States developing his game and used to travel to tournaments with his dad and sleep in the car. His favourite surface is hard, shot is forehand and tournament is Wimbledon. Out of superstition, he never goes on court without a headband. If he wasn’t a tennis player, he would be a pilot. His hobbies include watches, aviation, movies and cooking.
Nikoloz is the No. 1 tennis player in Georgia and member of the National Team. He represented his country twice at the ATP Cup (2020 and 2022) and twice at the Olympics (Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020). Nikoloz won 5 tournaments on the ATP Tour including two ATP 500 and three ATP 250.
